Writing is that thing I’ve always done since I was a little kid. I’d write stories then eagerly design book covers. And since writing was one of those things that came naturally, it was one of those things I took for granted. Poems were always scribbled on paper, short paragraphs of a story idea from time to time.

For years I struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. Struggled with my sexual identity. All those growing pains we each face under our own set of circumstances. Then as I got better, the writing quickly came back. It became that thing again, that thing that brought me back to life and gave me a sense of self.

Once I stepped into recovery and began to heal, the writing quickly came back. It became that thing again, the thing that brought me back to life and gave me a sense of self. I am so happy to share it with you.

King of Stars

I wrote King of Stars through some of the best and worst times, but most importantly, some of the most transformative times. The book is real, it is raw, it will make many reader uncomfortable. Because it is truth. And sometimes truth is painful. But it is always beautiful, the truth is always beautiful.

I hope these words, these stories, the thoughts, provoke something in someone.

Guest Speaking & Writing

With a background in theatre and public speaking, I am always happy to participate as a guest speaker. Especially for topics surrounding themes of addiction, recovery, sexuality, self-acceptance and mental health. I also contribute as a guest writer on various websites and am always eager for new opportunities to share.

You can listen to my story on the podcast, The Real Life Show, where I was asked to discuss my experience with addiction, recovery, sexual identity and growing up. This two part episode shares many of the stories that led to writing King Of Stars, as well as the raw nature of human experience.
